High Resolution Aerial Mapping

Detailed mapping by helicopter and drone, including CASA approved operations over and near people at suitable populated locations.

Overview

Mapping capability built around the site and the final use.

Lensaloft captures detailed vertical imagery by helicopter and drone, then assembles the frames into a single large photographic mosaic. The result can support planning displays, stakeholder communication, marketing, construction progress records and print at large scale. Specialist 3D capture can also be incorporated where the project requires it.

For locations that cannot simply be cleared of people, Lensaloft holds current CASA drone approval for operations over and near people (OONP). Within the conditions of that approval, this can make drone mapping possible in populated environments where standard operating conditions would otherwise rule out the flight.

Capabilities

Capture, access and output planned as one operation.

The required area, level of detail and finished use determine the capture altitude, platform, camera configuration, overlap and assembly workflow. Lensaloft plans those elements around the final visual result rather than applying a standard mapping process to every site.

The result can range from a detailed vertical photographic mosaic to repeat capture comparisons, displays at large scale and specialist 3D scene capture.

01

Access, approvals & capture planning

People, airspace, site boundaries, required detail and final output are assessed together before the platform and capture pattern are selected.

  • OONP and populous area operating requirements
  • Airspace, ATC and stakeholder coordination
  • Helicopter, drone and camera system selection
  • Altitude, resolution, overlap and weather planning
02

Mosaic assembly & image detail

Overlapping vertical frames are assembled and refined as a single high resolution photographic image with close attention to continuity and detail.

  • High resolution vertical photographic mosaics
  • Assembly from multiple frames and detailed image review
  • Colour and tonal balancing across the full site
  • Detail crops and annotated outputs where required
03

Print & digital output

Final files are prepared around the way the mapping will be viewed, from precinct displays designed to fill a wall to stakeholder presentations and web use.

  • Print and exhibition files at large scale
  • Web and presentation versions
  • Mounted display production where required
  • Output prepared for marketing, planning and stakeholder use
04

Repeat capture & 3D workflows

Projects that need change over time or a more immersive spatial output can incorporate repeat capture and specialist 3D scene generation.

  • Repeat capture for project comparison
  • Construction progress and precinct change documentation
  • Gaussian Splatting and 3DGS scene capture
  • Custom workflows for specialist visual applications
Technical note

This service produces high resolution photographic mapping for visual and presentation use. Survey, cadastral and GIS data workflows are available on request.
